As previously announced, the ROH World Championship will be on the line in New York as Tyler Black will challenge whoever holds the gold on 12/19. In addition, Jay and Mark Briscoe have overcome a lot in 2009, and their year-long trek to exact revenge on the American Wolves culminates in the Big Apple when they challenge Edwards and Richards for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. We can now add that the team of Teddy Hart and Alex Koslov will square off with the duo of Jack Evans and Rocky Romero on December 19th at “Final Battle 2009” in the heart of NYC! All four of these men have been engaging in a battle for contention over the AAA Cruiserweight title for some time, and they are bringing that battle to Ring of Honor!

ROH officials have been in back-and-forth contact with Kevin Steen this afternoon. At the request of Steen, most of the information discussed will remain private for the time being, but we can share that Steen has made a couple of requests of ROH management.

Steen requested that he and El Generico have tag team matches when ROH returns to Manassas, VA on December 18th and New York City on December 19th. Given the circumstances, ROH Officials have chosen to accept Steen’s requests and the previously announced El Generico/Steve Corino match for 12/18 in Manassas will be changed. Opponents for Steen and Generico in Manassas are currently being finalized. We apologize for the inconvenience and pledge that the Corino/Generico matchup will take place at a future live event.

Steen has also requested a specific matchup for December 19th in New York City. ROH Officials are happy to accept Steen’s request, and we can announce that a rematch between Kevin Steen and El Generico against the Young Bucks has been signed and will take place as part of Final Battle 2009. Steen has also requested to address the crowd following the match.

Kevin Steen will still appear as announced this Saturday night in Chicago.
