Default Tna=wcw?

Okay, I do not know if this has been brought up...but honestly I couldn't care less....Does anyone besides me since a little bit of World Championship Wrestling in Total Nonstop Action?....I mean for real, WCW was WWE's only competition....it started small and nobody cared but gradually got up to one point..then it just exploded with popularity...then of course they go bankrupt...TNA is going the same route...[hopefully subtracting the bankruptcy of course] they started very small...then now they still aren't as popular by any means...but they ARE a growing competition....

Wut do ya'll think?

well TNA has already beaten ECW in ratings sometimes, so I definitely think it has potential to give WWE a run for it's money.

But, probably not for a while though. It still has a long way to go.

A lot of people compare it to WCW, and I can see how you could see that, but I think it's managed a hell of a lot better than WCW ever was.

I see alittle bit of WCW in there. As in how picking up the known guys WCW did. And some storylines, TNA had, Russo also did in WCW.

Russo is a mistake. I'm a WWE fan, but TNA has gotten better over the past six months or a year.

I see what you mean, there are alot of simularitys but i think TNA wont end up like WCW, Jeff and Dixie made it pretty clear that they wont ever sell the company to vince. The young vs Old fued IMO is alot better than WCW's version. WCW didnt have any younger wrestlers compared to TNA, that why WCW had to use Jarrett, Awesome, and Shane Douglas as there main guys. It kind of took away the young vs old because it basicly guys in there mid 40's facing guys in there mid 30's. Another reason WCW died was because they spent to much money on guys that would show up about 5 events a year. Plus most of the wcw story lines where written the day of the show. I knew it was the begining of the end for wcw when the Giant, Jericho, Eddie, Benoit, Malenko, and Saturn all left in about a years time. They began to panic because they didnt have hardly any younger stars so they tried pushing them by any means neccisary, i remember thay even had Hogan job to Kidman.

I agree, TNA has grown and is still growing...I think some people might be quick to forget that from 2002 - 2005, the company was survived primarily by PPV only and had no TV deal. So yah, they've come a long way and have the financial backing of Panda Energy, which they havn't been shy of using given some of their aquisitions over the past few years. But here's the thing; TNA is not still not even close to WWE...The ratings have been consistent, but havn't improved in at least a year now (hovering around the 1.0 mark), from what i hear/read, TNA is lucky is they do 30, 000 buys for a PPV, they're still doing their weekly show at universal studios in front of roughly 1000 people, which i believe is FREE to attend (no source on that, so may not be true) and i hate to bring this up again, but with the current product they produce on TV each week, I don't see where all of these new viewers are coming from. Also, if you believe what you read, TNA is actually losing money.

I can't be arsed going into how WWE's numbers compare to TNA's, but you really don't need to look any further than that to see that WWE is number one in pro wrestling...Realistically, TNA isn't even close to them on any level and they have a very long way to go if they want to solidify that number two spot and maybe challenge WWE in the future.

One would hope that TNA management has seen and recognized WCW's mistakes and avoids making the same mistakes as they did.

Tna is stile relitively new give it a chance. Last year at this time there ratings where 0.8 for a while. Least this year they been consistant around 1.0 to 1.2 every week. I think this story line right now is gonna help tna, but you cant expect them to be competing with wwe over night. Remember it took wcw about 10 or 12 years before they caught wwe tna is only been around 6.

Here we go again;

No, TNA is not "relatively new" and you're obviously forgetting that the company has been in existence since 2002 and has been running weekly shows for over 6 year now. TNA has been doing the exact same ratings for over a year now (probably longer, but i don't have source), so yes it has been consistent, but not improving either. Frankly I'm suprised that the same people from last weeks show are compelled to watch the show again the next week. Where did i say i expect them to compete with WWE? I think the fact that some people believe that they currently are is laughable and it's gonna take TNA a lot longer than 10 or 12 years, especially if you count the 6 years they've already had. And by the way, I've been watching TNA on and off since 2004, so I've actually given it numerous chances.
