Russo is a mistake. I'm a WWE fan, but TNA has gotten better over the past six months or a year.

I agree, TNA has grown and is still growing...I think some people might be quick to forget that from 2002 - 2005, the company was survived primarily by PPV only and had no TV deal. So yah, they've come a long way and have the financial backing of Panda Energy, which they havn't been shy of using given some of their aquisitions over the past few years. But here's the thing; TNA is not still not even close to WWE...The ratings have been consistent, but havn't improved in at least a year now (hovering around the 1.0 mark), from what i hear/read, TNA is lucky is they do 30, 000 buys for a PPV, they're still doing their weekly show at universal studios in front of roughly 1000 people, which i believe is FREE to attend (no source on that, so may not be true) and i hate to bring this up again, but with the current product they produce on TV each week, I don't see where all of these new viewers are coming from. Also, if you believe what you read, TNA is actually losing money.
I can't be arsed going into how WWE's numbers compare to TNA's, but you really don't need to look any further than that to see that WWE is number one in pro wrestling...Realistically, TNA isn't even close to them on any level and they have a very long way to go if they want to solidify that number two spot and maybe challenge WWE in the future. One would hope that TNA management has seen and recognized WCW's mistakes and avoids making the same mistakes as they did. |

No, TNA is not "relatively new" and you're obviously forgetting that the company has been in existence since 2002 and has been running weekly shows for over 6 year now. TNA has been doing the exact same ratings for over a year now (probably longer, but i don't have source), so yes it has been consistent, but not improving either. Frankly I'm suprised that the same people from last weeks show are compelled to watch the show again the next week. Where did i say i expect them to compete with WWE? I think the fact that some people believe that they currently are is laughable and it's gonna take TNA a lot longer than 10 or 12 years, especially if you count the 6 years they've already had. And by the way, I've been watching TNA on and off since 2004, so I've actually given it numerous chances. |
