Thread: Hernandez To AAA?

TNA officials have spoken to the Mexican-based AAA promotion about sending Hernandez for an extended stay.

While this idea has come up in the past, there are some who feel he could become a legitimate star in Mexico. On the other hand, others fear Mexican wrestling fans could turn on him once they discover that he doesn't speak Spanish particularly well.

For those curious, Hernandez is of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent.

Why does TNA want to send a guy they are high on to Mexico. LMFAO at Hernandez not speaking spanish.

I guess they want to make his Supermex name more official by actually having him become a star over there. In all honesty, I think it would do him a lot of good to spend some time over there. Plus, I think they could care less about him not speaking much Spanish and Selena is a good example of that. Also, Mexico treats wrestling as a religion, so him just wrestling over there would be fine enough for them.

I a bit skeptical about sending him there, for a couple reason. There AAA or Mexican wrestling style is alot different than the America and if he really can't speak Spanish they can hurt him a bit being of Mexican decent they might look down on him, they really aren't keen on "outsiders" as it is and Hernandez not speaking Spanish might make him look like an "outsider" and than.........

sending a guy to a different company to become a bigger star because TNA failed too make him as big as they wanted too.

Hmmmmmmmmmm................I could have sworn that they have outsiders wrestling over there all of the time, but then again, what would I know? Lashley was over there before joining TNA and others like X-Pac wrestle over there as well. They could care less what ethnicity you are or if your Spanish speaking skills aren't beyond great. They're more interested in what you can bring to the ring. I also wouldn't say that he's completely failed just because you and other people aren't a fan of his.

I could be wrong, thought I remember reading something in Jericho's book about Mexico fans, not being keen to outsides. And he has failed the way he was being pushed was he was going to be in the Main Event by now. But because of several things his injury being one he is back into the tag team spectrum and not the Main Event, where people think he should be.

Yep, the gaijins in both Mexico and Japan were mentioned in Jericho's book and how they are tested and how they have to earn respect or they are never really over or treated as over until they do. He will be viewed as an outsider in the locker room more than anything from what I took from the book.

Is Hernandez 36 though? I mean thats old to be sending him to AAA to teach him how to wrestle. IDK, I don't really see it as something that is going to benefit him. Maybe TNA thinks they are going to bring in a bigger Mexican audience by sending him there and then bringing him back? That I guess makes the most sense to me. If they wanted to push him then they could just push him. I don't think sending him to Mexico is meant to make him better, especially at this point in his career.

TNA and AAA have formed a new talent exchange agreement. The deal has been in the works for months, but it took some time for TNA officials to commit due in part to their trouble past with Konnan, who works for the Mexican promotion.

As part of the agreement, TNA wrestler Hernandez will be working regularly for AAA on their television and big events. However, TNA will be his first priority, so he'll continue to appear on TNA television shows and pay-per-views in addition to working for AAA.
