Huge Original Plan for Kozlov, Stephanie Phasing Out Vince’s Guys?
The recently released WWE producer Bruce Prichard had came up with a debut plan for Vladimir Kozlov that would have saw Kozlov act as a “pay-per-view only” performer. The idea would be to have Kozlov wrestle only on pay-per-views, usually in squash matches, for a year or so and build him up as a main event level heel. Obviously the plan never came to anything.
It’s said that Stephanie McMahon played a big factor in Bruce’s release. Stephanie saw Bruce as one of Vince’s “yes men” and would always call him out at meetings for not paying attention, among other things. Bruce had been coming to TV tapings a lot less over the past few years. One incident saw Stephanie complain about Prichard missing so many meetings at a time when he feared his wife’s cancer was returning.
Some people in the company feel that Bruce represented Vince’s “old guard,” which are people that Stephanie has been looking to slowly phase out of the company and replace with her own people.
